Introduction
Vilipi ("we", "us") builds a notes application for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux and the web. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use Vilipi, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Vilipi to collect as little personal information as possible while still delivering fast, cross-device sync.
Information we collect
Account information you provide when signing up: your email address, display name, and (optionally) a profile photo. Notes, attachments and preferences you create in the app. Basic diagnostic data such as app version, device model, operating system version, crash reports and anonymised usage counts. We do not collect precise location unless you explicitly attach a location reminder to a note.
How we use your information
To operate and keep your notes in sync across devices. To provide customer support and respond to your questions. To detect abuse, fix bugs and improve the app. We do not use your notes for advertising or sell them to any third party.
Cloud sync & storage
When you sign in, your notes are stored on our servers so we can sync them to your other devices. Data is transmitted over TLS and stored encrypted at rest. If you sign out of every device and delete your account, we permanently delete your notes and attachments within 30 days.
Sharing & third parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us run Vilipi — hosting, error reporting, authentication and analytics — and each is bound by contract to protect it. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of Vilipi, our users or the public.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: encrypted connections, encrypted storage, role-based access, regular audits and prompt patching. No online service is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your notes and will tell you if a breach ever affects your data.
Children
Vilipi is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. You can manage most of this from Settings inside the app, or write to us at privacy@vilipi.app and we will help.
International transfers
Vilipi is a global service. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect data during such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app.
